Wow! What a long day!...wait it was more like two days...In my mind it’s all a blur. We felt all the crazy feelings that come along with long traveling. I’m so tired right now and I can’t wait to go to bed! The place we are staying at in Antalya is beautiful. I absolutely love it-it’s gorgeous. Hopefully we can get a picture of it to post on the website. This blog isn’t profound or anything; most likely due to my fading brain which needs sleep!

We had an amazing day! Although I’m sad because my hair straightener broke this morning. We went to Perge and saw the amazing ruins. They are beautiful! I don’t have words for how beautiful they are! We all took so many pictures. Afterwards we went to a great restaurant called Arkadas, meaning "Friends". It was by the Duden falls. Great foods, great scenery. We went to the beach after changing into swimming attire. Amazing beach. We went to St. Paul’s center and taught an advanced English class. It was really good to get to talk to a few people from Turkey who are learning English. Made me think that I should be trying harder to learn Turkish...I had a great day! Love to all.

Today was a d was a day packed with lots of plans...except they were plans that were unknown even to us. How is this possible, you might ask. Well, you see, in Turkey plans never seem to be set in stone. We had to be pretty flexible. We had to pack up all of our things (how sad!) in the morning because in the evening we were going to leave for Istanbul. Coco and I got up on time this morning! Yay! Renata drove us to a small city in the mountains. Kumluca was its name. We went to a public high school to meet Turkish students. They didn’t know very much English so it was hard to communicate. One boy, Eron, kind of claimed me as his own. It was pretty funny...and flattering. He told me he thought I was very pretty and he bought me a pepsi. He showed me around the school and we took a picture together. Great kid. I felt like I was the center of attention. :0)

We are now in Istanbul. Bad hotel. The shower is the bathroom. When someone showers everything gets wet. But of course being the lovely, positive students that we are, we haven’t complained. We went to Topkapi palace. It was beautiful...and humungous! My favorite part was seeing the treasury. I loved the huge diamond! I’d love to have that...ha yeah right! Later in the day we went to the best place a girl could dream of--The Grand Bazaar (Kapali Carsi). I found my gorgeous banquet ring. Many of the guys selling stuff liked to hit on the pretty girls. Naturally, because I have lighter hair, I was a likely target. Sometimes things became completely out of hand. Way too much flirting...a little overboard sometimes. I won’t tell you all those stories. It would take much too long. But just a tip if you ever want to go to Turkey: The people are very flirtatious. So be prepared! Hehe

Today we visited the mosques. They were beautiful! We also went to an underground cistern. It was dark and lit with orange glowing lamps. Neat! We grabbed a quick lunch of grilled cheese- not the same as in the US (French bread and white cheese)- and ate at the hostel. We headed to TEGV next. I made a little friend there who impressively counted all the way to 150 in English. It took quite awhile. TEGV is a place where kids can come and do extra activities after school. It’s a safe environment for them to learn and play. The kids there were adorable. Later in the evening we went to a dinner and show. There were lots of countries represented there. I danced with an Iranian who told me he loved me. After he asked that, I said "Do you?" He obviously didn’t understand much English because he didn’t respond to that :o) The evening was a blast. Many unexpected things happened.

I love Rumeli Hisari!! It’s the most beautiful place in the world! It’s an old fortress that you can climb around on. The scene from high atop the wall was amazing! So peaceful and serene. We met two inspiring Christian kids. It was lots of fun talking with them. We went to a big shopping center afterwards. We ate at Arby's! Wow American food is the bomb! But Turkish food is absolutely amazing too! I’ve left out sooo much in these blogs. If I wrote everything we did, and how I felt, I would be writing 10 pages a day. Everything is just THAT awesome. I love TURKEY!
